Good Morning Trail Seekers
Another small hike this morning, but the view and the sound of these falls make it well worth the drive. I have visited these falls many times but each time I see them the visit brings new views and adventures every time! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Directions
Head north on Highway 97 north for 176 km. Its approximately 2 hours from Prince George and about 20 minutes from the turn off to Mackenzie. About five minutes before the falls you will come to a S curve in the highway with a train track crossing. Once you cross over the tracks begin looking for a blue sign announcing that the falls are in 2 km. Just before you enter into the Pine pass to the left you will see the sign to the falls.

Pull in and you are there!!
The Falls
So there is a little trail here at the falls but there is also a lot of ways that you can view these falls. You can go right up to the fence and view the falls from there or if you go right to the end of the parking lot there is a little trail that leads to the creek at the bottom of the falls.

This is a great place to take some pictures.

There is a little trail here that leads along the creek up towards the falls. But if you would like something a little more challenging there is a trail that leads up to the top part of the falls to the right of the fence.

I will warn you that this trail is almost straight up but it is only for about 50 meters and the view up top is well worth the climb. As you climb the roots of the trees and the rocks make perfect steps to climb up. At the top you will get a great view of the falls coming out of the rock into a pool of beautiful aqua green coloured water. It’s gorgeous.

I hope you have an amazing time enjoying the sound of the water and feeling the mist from the falls on your face! Happy exploring!!!
Trail notes
I have marked this trail as an easy trail because the falls are very easy to access as they are at a rest stop. But the trail leading up to the top part of the falls is definitely not an easy trail. This trail is straight up. Though it is easier to go up, coming down is a bit more of a challenge.
In the spring as there is a LOT of water flowing down these falls with the spring runoff from the mountains. So because of this the trail running up to the top of the falls is very muddy and the rocks very slippery with all the mist coming off the falls. This leads to the trail being very dangerous in the spring so please be very careful when climbing.
If you want to make these falls a day trip, pack a lunch and enjoy a meal at one of the many picnic tables placed by the falls and the creek.
